The garden, rebuilt on the site of the massacre, features a Martyr’s Gallery that pays homage to the hundreds of innocent victims who were shot down here. As a living reminder of India’s struggle for freedom, the Jallianwala Bagh often fills with tactical visits from freedom fighters and visitors from across the world. Aside from commemorative statues, monuments, and colorful blooms, the garden also carries the ever-memorable eternal flame of sacrifice, lit in hand by the legendary Jawaharlal Nehru.The garden also hosts a light and sound show, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the stories of this tragic episode in Indian history. The one-hour show is available in both Hindi and English languages, every day from November through February.

The show follows Major General Dyer’s story and the heroism of the 400-odd unarmed victims of the fateful massacre, hosted against the striking backdrop of the historic garden. Tickets for entry into the garden are nominal at Rs 50 for adults and Rs 25 for children.A visit to the Jallianwala Bagh gives insight into an unforgettable chapter of Indian history, while providing atmosphere for peace and reflection. Today, the garden stands proud as a testament to bravery, courage, and unwavering resilience of India’s fight for freedom.
