This legend dates back to the Maharajah Bhupinder Singh of Patiala who had a dream about the temple in 1921. According to the tale, the Maharajah dreamt of a Shiva Lingam inside a cave located on the top of one of the three hillocks in Chail. Fascinated by this dream, the Maharajah decided to locate this temple.The search for this mysterious temple that was seen in Bhupinder Singh’s dream began and after much effort, it was eventually found in 1949. Since then, the temple, also known popularly as Sidh Baba Ka Mandir, has become a popular spiritual spot for devotees in Himachal Pradesh and beyond. The temple is also home to a variety of wildlife like leopards, macaque monkeys and peacocks.The temple at Sidh Baba Ka Mandir is a simple yet elegant affair and stands out due to its unique architecture. The structure is made of stones and marble and has two domes- a large one in the center and a smaller one in the north-east corner. Visitors to the temple will also find a square shaped pond in the middle of the complex, which symbolizes purity.
