Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest and most famous national parks in northern India, located in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. The park is popular for its tiger population, and it is one of the best places to observe tigers in the wild. The park is also home to a variety of other wildlife species, making it one of the most diverse protected zones in the country.Covering an area of 392 sq kms, Ranthambore National Park was declared a sanctuary back in 1955.

It was designated a Project Tiger reserve in 1973 and later declared a national park in 1980. In 1984, the park was accepted into the international Biosphere Reserve under the UNESCO Man and Biosphere reserve program.Ranthambore National Park is part of the much larger Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, and it is one of the largest and most popular parks in India. It is located between the Banas and Chambal Rivers, and the Vindhya and Aravalli ranges make it an especially scenic and dramatic setting. Within the park there are numerous lakes and pools, supporting an array of waterfowl and other aquatic life.The park is home to a large population of tigers, as well as other animal species such as leopards, hyenas, sloth bears, sambar, chital, nilgai, and panthers. The park also has a large population of bird species, making it a great place for birdwatching.The park has two amazing ancient monuments - the Ranthambore Fort and the Jogi Mahal, located within the park. The Ranthambore Fort was built during the 10th century and its corbelled towers offer a spectacular view of the area. The park also offers a wide range of wildlife safaris, that offer visitors a chance to view wildlife in their natural habitat.Ranthambore National Park is a must-visit destination for wildlife and nature lovers.
