Ayodhya, known as the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, holds a specific place known as Ram Janmabhoomi in Ram Kot Ward. It is believed to be the exact spot where Lord Ram was born, making it one of the most significant pilgrimage sites for Hindus in India.
The history of Ram Janmabhoomi is entwined with the Babri Masjid, which once stood here. The Mughals were believed to have demolished a Hindu shrine to build the mosque at Lord Ram's birthplace. The subsequent events, including the mosque's destruction in 1992 and the subsequent disputes, led to the Supreme Court of India's decision in 2019 to allocate the land to build the Ram Temple. Additionally, 5 acres of land were allotted to the Sunni Waqf Board for a mosque.
Construction of the magnificent Ram Temple in Ayodhya began in August 2020, and though it may take a few years to complete, devotees continue to visit the site to pay their respects to Lord Ram. The proposed design of the temple is grand and awe-inspiring. The actual construction site is heavily secured, with a 3-tier security system in place.
