The Mahamaya Temple, Narkanda is an ancient temple situated in Kacheri, close to the picturesque hill station of Narkanda, in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, the feared yet powerful consort of Lord Shiva, and is said to have been the first temple to have been consecrated to the goddess.The temple was built in the 10th century. The interiors of the temple feature intricate carvings and stunning frescoes, while the complex includes several open areas for visitors. It is believed that at one time the temple complex housed numerous Shiva and Kali temples.The Mahamaya Temple stands out due to its distinct architectural style and impressive structure.
