Gayatri Mata Temple (also known as Pap-Mochani), Pushkar is a revered sacred site that has been drawing devotees from across the globe for centuries.

Located close to one of the holy cities of India, Ajmer, the temple enshrines the image of Goddess Gayatri (Ma Bhavani) within its central altar and is believed to be amongst the oldest surviving temples in India.In Hindu mythology, the river Pushkar is believed to hold tremendous religious significance and its crystal clear water is regarded to be holy. Local mythology states that Lord Rama along with his brother Laxman prayed and performed rituals at this sacred spot with the purpose of absolving themselves of the sin of killing Ravana - believed to be the greatest ever devotee of Goddess Gayatri.The temple is a masterpiece of architecture that is believed to have been constructed by the legendary beer Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during the 18th Century. The temple attract pilgrimages in large numbers, particularly during the festive occasions such as Raksha Bandhan, Ratha-Yatra and Gayatri Japa.The temple is open to visitors every day from 6 AM till 10 PM, and as a sign of respect religious offerings such as flowers, a variety of fruits and incense are welcome here.
