Explore Tawang War Memorial Overview

The Explore Tawang War Memorial located in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh is a dedicated monument to those soldiers who lost their lives due to the hostilities between India and China in 1962. The arch is inscribed with a quote from Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, and it stands as a reminder of the valor and patriotism of the brave soldiers who lost their lives defending the nation in a foreign land.The obelisk at the memorial is surrounded by luxury military vehicles and cannons which were used by the Indian Army in the war. There is also a Shiva temple and a bronze bust of the Dalai Lama who had come to India during the Chinese invasion.
