Located on an island, the Gumbaz is the resting place of Tipu Sultan and his parents. Constructed in 1793, and built in classic Islamic architecture, the interiors of this magnificent mausoleum are filled with Arabic scriptures inscribed on marble walls and erected with tall pillars.Apart from the monuments, there are several other attractions in Sri Rangapatna such as the Ranganathaswamy Temple, the famed Venugopalaswamy Temple, and the Wilks Memorial Church.
